Hardy Plumbago

Hardy Plumbago is a color chameleon that brings late-season brilliance to the garden. From midsummer to frost, it produces clusters of rich cobalt blue flowers that pollinators adore. As temperatures cool, its glossy green foliage transforms into a fiery crimsonadding a second act of fall color that rivals any maple.

Growing just 610 inches tall, Hardy Plumbago spreads easily to form a vibrant groundcover in full sun or partial shade. Its a tough, adaptable plant that laughs in the face of drought and deer, thriving in loamy or sandy soils with good drainage. Whether you’re covering a slope, filling a border, or creating contrast beneath taller perennials, this plant delivers reliable drama with minimal care.
