Painted Lady Butterfly Essentials Native Seed Packet Set

With their intricate wings and joyful, fluttering flight, Painted Lady butterflies bring a sense of wonder to any garden. Our Painted Lady Butterfly Essentials Native Seed Packet Set is designed to invite these world-traveling beauties to stay awhile. Featuring a thoughtfully curated selection of native and pollinator-friendly plants: Symphyotrichum novae-angliae, Eurybia macrophylla, Lavatera trimestris, Liatris pycnostachya, and Cirsium discolor, this collection creates a nourishing, nectar-rich habitat that supports Painted Ladies from late summer into fall and beyond.

Each species in the set plays a unique role in supporting butterflies and other pollinators. New England Aster and Big Leaf Aster offer vital late-season nectar with their bold violet and lavender blooms, just when butterflies need fuel for their long journeys. Prairie Blazing Star rises in spires of purple fireworks, irresistible to butterflies and bees alike. Rose Mallow, adds a touch of old-fashioned charm with large, silky blooms that shimmer in the sunlight and attract a parade of pollinators.

Perhaps the most surprising star of the mix is Cirsium discolor, or Pasture Thistle, a native thistle often overlooked, yet beloved by Painted Ladies. Unlike introduced thistles, this native species provides essential nectar and serves as a host plant for caterpillars, offering food, shelter, and a place to grow. Together, these plants create a balanced, ecologically rich habitat, filled with texture, movement, and color.
