September Sparkler Fall Container Garden

The bright yellow, button-shaped blossoms of a Hardy Mum draw the eye to a bevy of attractions in our exclusive September Sparkler Fall Container Garden. Flanking the Mum are the bold red and yellow fruits of an Ornamental Pepper, the bronzy peach foliage of a Heuchera, and the slender, variegated blades of a Carex. Completing the combo with its rich color and fuzzy texture are the spikes of a Celosia. 5 plants total, 1 of each variety listed below. Container not included.

Some plants require more space in container gardens than others. To accommodate the 5 plants in this collection, we recommend a container at least 14″ in diameter and 12″ deep.

If you choose to overwinter your plants, they will need a little special treatment. Although we cant guarantee your plants successful return next year, here are our best recommendations.

In climates where winter temperatures drop well below freezing, containers should be dismantled in late fall. The Heuchera, Chrysanthemum and Carex are perennials and can be planted in the ground. Simply discard the Ornamental Pepper and Celosia which are annuals and will not survive in areas below 20F. In mild-winter climates (Zone 8 and warmer), these plants can be left outdoors in containers.
